6 Great Ways to Kick off the Summer in New West

Now that summer's officially here, there are lots of fun and exciting things to do around the city. Here are 6 things to keep you moving:


International Day of Yoga @ Westminster Pier / June 21 6 - 7pm
The Brewery District's own Jenni Hart from MOVE Studio is hosting a family friendly outdoor yoga class. Join Jenni, a lululemon ambassador, at New West Pier Park (at 1 Sixth Street) on June 21st. Details.

Lila Summer Series @ Westminster Pier / Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm
This free yoga series by lululemon happens every Wednesday evening 6-7:30 pm until August 30th. Join the city’s top yoga instructors in a beautiful riverfront setting. We have the August 9th session circled on our calendars when Jenni from MOVE Studios will be leading the workout. Details.

New West Craft Summer Boardwalk Market / Every second Saturday from 11 am – 4pm
At the River Market Boardwalk (810 Quayside Drive), you’ll find handmade goods on the first and third Saturday of every month. The next market is July 1st. Details.

Canada 150 Fireworks, July 1 at 10pm
Fireworks will light up the sky above New Westminster Quay on Canada Day. Find a spot overlooking the Fraser River and enjoy the show.

Fridays on Front / Starting Friday, July 7th from 5 – 8pm
At this family-friendly new weekly night market in Downtown New Westminster, you’ll find artisanal vendors, at the New West Farmers Market and New West Craft, live music and a selection of food trucks and beer and wine from Vancouver’s first bar truck – the Vagabond Bar Truck. Located at the 600 block of Front Street near New Westminster Quay. Details.

New West Grand Prix, July 11
The fastest cyclists in North America will hit the streets of New Westminster this summer. Come out and cheer on the pros in both women’s and men’s events. Details.
