The Columbia Construction Update – December 2017

Right now, the focus at The Brewery District continues to be on The Columbia's parkade. Now that excavation is complete, we are building from the ground up, starting with a slab-on-grade bottom level. Once built, The Columbia will include three levels of parking. Most of level P3 slab on grade - the lowest level of parking - is complete. As you can see from the photo of P3 below, a lot of concrete is involved at this stage!

The remaining two levels of parking - P2 and P1 – are in progress and expected to have most of the level P2 concrete poured by the end of this year. The image below shows parking level P2 suspended concrete slab with the level P1 deck in progress on top.

Since our last update this Fall, we have continued to work on the elevator shaft. The image below shows the elevator shaft progress at level P3. Plywood is covering the elevator pit where the 3 elevators will run.

The construction team will be working on the parkade levels throughout the winter, until this coming Spring. Be sure to follow us on social media for the latest construction news.

Did you know? The Brewery District community is 9 acres in size. That's the equivalent of 23 NHL ice hockey surfaces.
