The Westminster is pet-friendly

Published: Star Metro February 28, 2019

At The Westminster, a part of Wesgroup Properties’ master planned Brewery District, amenities such as a gym and social lounges cater to human residents but the developer didn’t stop there. Instead, it made it a point to accommodate residents’ four-legged family members

“We welcome pets because we recognize they are part of the family too,” says Fabian Leitner, Wesgroup’s director of development. “We also don’t have breed or size restrictions for dogs.”

As a result, a host of onsite amenities is especially geared towards making pet owners’ lives easier and pets happier. The Westminster features an indoor wash area with warm water, an enclosed dog park that will allow Fido to run around freely and a pet waste disposal program.

“The dog wash, for example, saves owners from struggling to wash pets in their home in a tub designed for humans,” says Leitner.

“We also know that having a safe place to take your dog out, away from busy roads, is important. That’s why in the dog enclosure, dogs can run off-leash.”

The nearby neighbourhood also lends itself to dog-friendly activities. In addition to its daycare services, Gus' Indoor Dog Park and Daycare also allows for drop-in on rainy days and off-leash dog parks at Glenbrook Ravine Park and Hume Park are both less than 15 minutes away on foot (or paw). The dog-friendly Brewery District even features custom dog benches.
