Autumn Events in New Westminster
The leaves are changing colour, the sun is setting a little earlier and the weather is getting crisper, which must mean one thing... fall is here! As we say good-bye to summer, we have a few New Westminster events and activities that will get you excited about the arrival of fall.
Be/Longing Exhibit, until October 7
New Westminster Museum, 777 Columbia Street
Don’t miss your final chance to view the Be/Longing exhibit at the New Westminster Museum. This year-long collaborative conversation project centers around the theme of “home” and the various meanings surrounding the word. This project includes works by several local artists, including Annie Briard. Annie's piece Pop-Up Home was on display at Brewery District for several months. Details.

Oktoberfest Pub Night | October 12 & 19, 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

NewWest FilmFest 2018 | October 19 - 21
Landmark Cinemas 10, 800 Carnarvon Street, New Westminster
A popular New Westminster event, this three-day annual film festival is put on by the New West Film Society, led by a passionate group of film aficionados hoping to spread their love of film to the local community. As part of their ninth year of hosting the festival, the society will be screening a wide array of selected independent films from local and up and coming global talent from across the world. International Artists Day Anonymous Art Show | October 25 - 29
100 Braid St Studios, New Westminster
In celebration of International Artists Day, our friends at 100 Braid Street Studios are hosting their popular Anonymous Art Show. Billed as the Lower Mainland's most exciting art treasure hunt, this event will feature the diverse work of over 100 artists. Each artist will display 1 - 3 works of art. Who created the pieces will remain a mystery until after the artwork is purchased. Event proceeds go to the New West Arts Council. Details.
Fraser River Frights | October 27
Samson V, 880 Quayside Drive, New Westminster
And finally, just in time for Halloween, the Samson V sternwheeler ship, docked at Westminster Quay, is ready to share its onboard mysteries. Launched in 1937, the Samson V is the only remaining completely intact and floating wooden sternwheeler in North America. Join the crew of the ghost ship for an afternoon of ghost stories, spooky crafts and an eerie scavenger hunt. This fun filled drop-in and donation only event is sure to be a hit with adults and children alike. Details.
